Claims for the Contracting State : AT A process for producing copolymers of alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid esters with alpha-olefins, characterized in that alpha-olefins containing from 8 to 24 C-atoms and alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydrides or alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acids are copolymerized in an inert gas at 80 to 210 degrees C in the presence of a peroxide catalyst and then esterified with ethoxylated alcohols having a degree of ethoxylation of from 1 to 45 in a molar ratio of alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (or anhydride) to ethoxylated alchol of from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2. |
