Lapped tiled flooring

Two-layer flooring, the underlaing being pref. of cork, felt, glass-fibre, PVC, or foamed plastic, is laid with the joints of the two layers staggered. Upper layer is pref. of textile, PVC, timber. Object: to prevent joints opening.
