The support for sliding gates or doors comprises a housing (1) secured to a vertical support (5) anchored into the ground and situated alongside a gate post. The housing (1) contains rollers (4) near its ends which support and guide a horizontal rail (9) attached across the whole width of the gate. Other rollers (7) run in an independent frame in the upper part of the housing. The position of the frame is vertically adjustable so that the rollers run along the top of the rail (9) maintaining the height of the gate without impairing its horizontal displacement.
