PURPOSE:To achieve 80 cycle charge-discharge in operation in which no complete discharge is conducted, to prevent energy loss, and to increase the total energy efficiency by using a composite dendrite retarder and setting a discharge cut-off voltage to 1.0V/cell. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of an inorganic solution containing an optimum concentration of two metal ions selected form Pb, Sn, In, and Tl, and an organic solution containing an optimum concentration of methyldodecylmorpholiniumbromide (MDMB) is added to an electrolyte as a dendrite retarder, and this composite electrolyte is used. During operation, discharge cut-off voltage is set to 1.0V/cell, and charge-discharge containing no complete discharge is made possible. Pb and Tl in the dendrite retarder form eutectoid with zinc to accelerate uniform deposition, and Sn and In also form eutectoid with zinc and reduce the oxide generated in discharge to form the uniform discharge surface and to increase deposition after discharge. MDMB is adsorbed in the deposited product to retard the growth of dendrite and to increase deposition after discharge. |
