The lower layer of insets consists of ropes, while the top layer consists of sleeves, positioned in groups behind each other, and supporting each other with their front face. The rope and sleeves are either positioned in longitudinal direction of the band, or transversely to the longitudinal direction. The transverse insets are of advantage for bands, which have sideward pulling chains, while the longitudinal reinforcings are of advantage for conveyor plants with no sideward pulling mechanism. The band will still go round a normal curve. |
