PURPOSE:To remove stuck matters with a simple means, by fluffing the matters stuck to the surface of a steel band, and incinerating these matters in a range of prescribed temperatures and removing the incinerated carbonized matters by brushing, etc. CONSTITUTION:At the outlet of a continuous mill in cold rolling, brush rolls 2 consisting of a pair of top and bottom rolls are provided to fluff stuck matters, such as a lubricating agent stuck to the surface of a steel band, by brushing the surface of the rolling-finished steel band. Next, burners 3 for cleaning are installed on the downstream of the brush rolls 2 to incinerate the stuck matters at a stretch by jetting flames of burners 3 to the upper and lower surfaces of the steel band (a). At this time, the temperature range of heating is regulated to 500-700 deg.C. Brush rolls 4 consisting of a pair of top and bottom rolls or an air- blowing device are further arranged on the downstream of the burners 3 to remove the carbonized matters, incinerated and still remaining in a state of sticking to the surfaces of the steel band. |
