PURPOSE:To extend the limit length of a cord, by inserting a metallic or fibrous wire, by which a coating sleeve involving an optical fiber is drawn and inserted into a guide sleeve, through the guide sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A metallic wire 26 such as a piano wire and a stainless steel wire is inserted through a guide sleeve 25 preliminarily and is protruded from both ends of the guide sleeve 25 by a sufficient length. In case that a bare cord 8 involving an optical fiber is inserted into a reinforcing cord 20, the end of the metallic wire 26 and the end of a coating sleeve 2 of the bare cord 8 are fastened tightly to be fixed by winding a narrow metallic wire 27. The other end of the metallic wire 26 is drawn gradually to pull the bare cord 8 into the guide sleeve 25 of the reinforcing cord 20, and the coating sleeve 2 is inserted through the guide sleeve 25 by a required length. Thus, the practical limit length of the cord is extended, and restrictions on length are removed. |
