PURPOSE:To provide a subject printer which can reliably prevent air bubbles from staying in a cavity, by constituting the printer such that liquid is supplied and drained by vertically moving a liquid tank coupled to a cavity formed in front of an orifice provided in a peripheral wall of an ink collecting part. CONSTITUTION:In case an ink jet head is not used, a pad 7 stands up to close off a jet hole 14a, and an ink tank 4 and a subtank 5 are moved to an elevated position through the upward movement of elevating frames 41 and 51. Ink in the subtank 5 flows into an air chamber 14 through a tube 5b, and air in the air chamber 14 is exhausted to the subtank 5 side through an air tube 6 and the tube 5a. An orifice 13a is brought into a state that both inside and the outside thereof are submerged under ink. This permits moisture in ink from the orifice to be prevented from evaporating. |
