PURPOSE:To accurately perform automatic focusing, by controlling a storage time of a primary dimension image sensor according to the brightness of an objective, in an automatic focusing device of a TV camera. CONSTITUTION:An N type semiconductor substrate 1, P type diffusion regions 3, 4, 3a and 4a, and an opening 5 are provided. Further, P type diffusion regions 6, 7 forming a diode for light amount detection are arranged in opposition to the regions 3a and 4a respectively in zig-zag form and are connected in common with a conductive light shield film 2' via contact sections 8 and 9. When a primary dimensional image is prjected to the regions 3a and 4a, since the light image has a spread of two dimensions, then almost the same light as the regions 3a and 4a is made incident also to the regions 6 and 7. Thus, an optical current equal to the total amount of light incident to the regions 3a and 4a can be obtained from the film 2'. |
