PURPOSE:To economize energy by providing a furnace temp. calculating part which calculates the temp. of a continuous heating furnace and a slab temp. calculating part which calculates the slab temp. in the furnace and controlling the heating during the operation halt by a determining part for an optimum quenching time in accordance with the calculated values thereof. CONSTITUTION:The furnace temp. TG1 and slab temp. TS1 at the resuming of operation are determined by using a furnace temp. calculating part 2 and a slab temp. calculating part 3. The values thereof and the furnace temp. TG0 and slab temp. TS0 during the operation halt are compared and the flow rate WF0+ DELTAWF after the reignition is so corrected as to attain TG1=TG0, TS1=TS0, and again TG1 and TS1 are calculated. If such procedures are repeated a few times, the flow rate WF necessary at the quenching time DELTAtF0 is determined and total fuel WT0 to be charged can be calculated. With the DELTAtF0 and WF0 as initial values, the quenching time DELTAtF that minimizes the fuel WT and the fuel flow rate WF after the reignition can be determined. The heating furnace during the operation halt is controlled by using the DELTAtF, WF. |
