Woven patterns on a thermally stable peelable carrier sheet were laminated onto textile goods using heat-sensitive adhesives to produce decorated materials with an embroidery effect. Thus, a pattern was embroidered using an acrylic yarn and a nylon 11 bobbin thread onto a thermally degradable backing sheet of Rayon treated with caustic. The embroidered pattern was laminated, using a pressure-sensitive peelable adhesive onto a nonwoven, cellulosic carrier sheet. The pattern was then applied to a piece of velvet with the nylon bobbin thread in contact with the fabric and heated to fuse the embroidery pattern to the fabric and to degrade the backing sheet, and the carrier sheet was removed.
