Novel compounds of the formulae wherein X represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a C1- 5 alkyl, trifluoromethyl, C1- 5 alkoxy, C1- 5 alkylsulphonyl, C1- 5 alkylmercapto or di(C1- 4 alkyl)sulphamoyl radical are prepared by formylating the corresponding N-unsubstituted aminomethyl derivatives.
