A sound pick-up arm comprises a tubular arm and a housing case, in which a transducer or a sound pick-up insert may be fastened. The arm and the housing case are a one-piece construction, which is formed by cutting open and shaping one end of a hollow tube of a lightweight metal or a lightweight metal alloy in order to form the housing case.
