The flat roof structure has a concrete floor (10) which is borne by roof walls (11). On the upper side (12) of the roof floor (10) there is applied an asphalt layer (16) which is impermeable to water and on which a drainage layer (17) rests. A thermal insulation layer (18) comprising foamed polystyrene panels is arranged over said drainage layer (17). The polystyrene panels (18) are covered over by a protective layer (19) which is permeable to water and consists of gravel. <IMAGE>
