<p>PURPOSE:To integrate a plurality of coil elements into a single unit without inducing mutual interference by a method wherein primary and secondary coils are wound about the outer circumference of leg magnetic paths partially provided with high magnetic path resistance and the two leg paths are coupled with a common magnetic path and the primary coils are connected to a battery via interrupting structures. CONSTITUTION:An iron core 4 is constituted of a common magnetic path 401 running through the center thereof and leg magnetic paths 402a and 402b located on the both sides thereof. The leg magnetic paths are provided with gaps 7a and 7b, respectively. Next, a primary coil 2a and secondary coil 3a are wound about the leg magnetic path 402a while a primary coil 2b and secondary coil 3b are wound about the leg magnetic path 403b. A first ignition coil element 110 on the leg magnetic path 402a side and a second ignition coil element 120 on the leg magnetic path 402b side constitute an ignition coil unit 100. Thus, a plurality of ignition coils are integrated into a single unit, wherein a battery 1 is connected across a terminal of the primary coil 2a and a terminal of the primary coil 2b, a parallel combination of a diode 5a and interruptor 8a is connected to the other terminal of the primary 2a and a parallel combination of a diode 5b and an interruptor 8b is connected to the other terminal of the primary coil 2b.</p> |
