Process for underground gasification of mineral fuels

The invention relates to a process for underground gasification of mineral fuels. The process comprises establishing the gas generator by sinking drilling channels and vertical boreholes in a seam of the mineral fuel: main boreholes and intermediate boreholes which are located at the channel start and which are arranged along each drilling-channel longitudinal axis and on different sides of this axis, the next borehole being in each case located on the side which extends opposite that on which the preceding borehole is arranged; fire-mining on the side of the drilling channel end; fire treatment of the drilling channels, starting from the fire-mining; the successive fire breakthrough of the vertical boreholes with the drilling channel, starting on the side of fire-mining; sectional gasification of the mineral fuels by successively feeding blower air, directed in the plane of the seam under an angle to the longitudinal axis of the drilling channel, into each intermediate borehole, starting on the side of fire-mining, and in the direction from the longitudinal axis of the drilling channel within a period which is required for gasifying at most 20% of the mineral fuel reserves of each drilling channel section and ensures thermal treatment of the seam, the intensity of the blower air feed into each intermediate borehole being increased proportionally to the increase in the length of drilling channel; transfer of the gas generated in each channel section to the side of fire-mining; subsequent gasification of the mineral fuels by feeding blower air into the main boreholes or into the main boreholes and into the drilling channels, and transfer of the gas generated.
