PURPOSE:To accurately detect a leaking position of a place not to see by the eyes and leaked quantity, by enclosing a liquid in a pipe to be inspected up to a prescribed water level and pressurizing the liquid surface and measuring the variation with time of pressure difference corresponding to a lowering the liquid level. CONSTITUTION:Water is poured so that the free surface is raised to a hight above a flange to be inspected of a buried pipe 1 and a water filling part and an air piping 4 are made into a closed loop through each water pipe for measurement 6 and air pipe for measurement 7. Sealed air in the upper part of the pipe 1 is pressurized through a compressor 15 in this condition. As a result, the pressure difference between the air pressure applied to the one side and the sum of the air pressure applied to the other side and head, is measured accurately by a differential pressure gauge 5 forming a manometer. Even in case when the place can not be perceived by the eyes by burying the pipe in the earth, leaking place and quantity are measured by measuring the variation with time of pressure difference corresponding to a lowering of this water level. |
