1279166 Treating acidic gases H E BENSON J H FIELD and W M EPES 2 Sept 1970 [9 Sept 1969] 42062/70 Heading B1L Stripping steam is produced in a process for removing CO 2 and H 2 S from hot steam-containing agas mixtures using aqueous alkaline scrubbing solutions circulated between a highpressure absorption stage and a low pressure regeneration stage in which the solution is steam stripped. Motive steam for a steam ejector is provided from a water boiler with indirect heat exchange between hot feed gas and water, preferably condensate from the scrubbing system. The ejector is used to produce flash steam from regenerated scrubbing solution and this flash steam is fed to the regenerator. Hot gases leaving the water boiler are indirectly heat exchanged with regenerated scrubbing solution and this steam is also fed to the regenerator as stripping steam.
