1286777 Belt gearing H J VAN DOORNE 19 April 1971 [13 April 1970] 26908/71 Heading F2Q A V-belt comprises four superimposed steel strips 4, 5, 6, 7 which are embraced by a plurality of V-shaped steel blocks 9 which extend around the total circumference of the strips and are able to shift in the longitudinal direction with respect to the strips. The blocks 9 have lateral guides 10, 11 having top edges 12, 13 extending over the strips. The blocks 9 are bevelled on one side 14, or both sides, transversely to the direction of movement so that they can tilt with respect to each other when they are entrained around a pulley. The blocks 9 have rounded surfaces 8 where they contact the strip 7. |
