PURPOSE:To discharge the copying paper that remains in the machine surely to the outside of the machine in the stage of preliminary driving when an electric power source is turned on by prohibiting the operation of chargers for a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of preliminary operation when an electric power source is turned on, driving of the conveying means of a copying machine, for example, a photosensitive drum 1, a motor, the 1st, 2nd conveying rollers 13, 14, etc. are turned on immediately. On the other hand, a timer T1 is so set as to prohibit turning on of chargers CH2-CH3 and an eraser 6 for a time sufficient for conveyed paper to pass through at least a range A. The chargers and the eraser 6 are operated upon timing up of the T1 so that irrespectively of the positions where the conveyed paper is present the working of the chargers upon the surface of the photoreceptor facing the chargers before the leading end of said paper detaches from the surface of the drum is prohibited. As a result, the wrapping of the copying paper on the photosensitive drum is prevented and the copying paper is discharged surely to the outside of the machine. |
