PURPOSE:To allow expecting the reproducibility of a coil current and constituting a device at a cost more inexpensive than a chopper system, by connecting a DC breaker in series with a thyristor converter. CONSTITUTION:The DC breaker 4 connected in series with the thyristor converter 2 is provided between the thyristor converter 2 and the coil in vertical magnetic field 3, and a resistor 5 for attenuation is parallel connected to this DC breaker 4, performing the breaks of the by-pass pair operation and current of the thyristor converter 2, thus contriving the timing of current break and the reproducibility of the breaking current. To obtain the wave form of current as illustrated, the thyristor rectifier 2 is by-pass-paired with the circulation of a coil current at a fixed time before the t2, the DC breaker 4 is off-operated, thus by-passing the coil current to the resistor 5 at the time t2, resulting in the breaks after the time t2. Thus, the thyristor converter 2 can be constituted of a low pressure one, and a vacuum switch and an ignitron instead of a thyristor breaker can be used for the DC breaker. |
