A tensioning means for a projecting metal construction has a dielectric cable of synthetic fibres which is covered by a moisture-tight sheath. A connector part is attached to one end of the cable to join the cable to a projecting construction. The connector part is provided with a casting head in which spliced fibres of the cable are encapsulated in casting material in order to fasten the connector part to the end of the cable. A corona discharge device is attached to the casting head and arranged in such a manner that it surrounds the cable of synthetic material in a circular manner at the point at which the cable enters the casting head in order to reduce the probability of corona discharge in the vicinity of the cable surface, which may lead to the cable burning through and tearing.
