PURPOSE:To automatically polish V shaped-interface grooves for cylindrical members of boiler by pressing under a contant pressure an abrasive cloth paper running between pulleys under an extended state through a contact wheel. CONSTITUTION:A contact wheel 5 is arranged to face a groove 2 of a workpiece 1 to be polished. A pressure weight 21 is moved on a guide bar 22 of a shaking member 4. The contact wheel 5 is arranged to apply a proper pressure over to the bottom of the groove 2 through an abrasive cloth paper 20 and is fixed with a fixing screw 23. Feed is provided to the workpiece 1 to be polished by driving the abrasive cloth paper 20 and rotating a roller 37 as well. Then, the shaking member 4, which fixes the contact wheel 5, starts a vertical and horizontal shaking motion in proportion to the feed of the groove 2 and then makes contact with the groove 2 under a constant pressure from the vertical direction, thereby polishing the groove 2 uniformly. |
