The invention relates to a teleaction network having several area networks, the teleaction network formed from the area networks having a tree structure, and central area stations being in each case coupled to a station of another area network via a switching device. In such a teleaction device, it is intended to be possible to carry out information exchange between a main central station and area central stations and/or stations with the least possible impairment of the information exchange occurring within the area networks. For this purpose, the invention provides for storage of collective information items in central stations and for transmission of control and interrogation messages in one direction of transmission and of signalling messages from central stations in the other direction of transmission. The teleaction device can advantageously be used for operating a very large number of stations. <IMAGE>
