A door opening-and-losing device for an automotive vehicle which permits a driver to open and close a door of the vehicle from a remote position is provided with a safety device to prevent the passengers from being injured if the door is accidentally opened while a passenger is leaning against the door or if the door is accidentally closed while a passenger is getting in or out of the vehicle. The safety device comprises at least one switch (15a, 15b) for detecting an abnormal seat position of the passenger and for disconnecting a door-open switch (21a) or a door-close switch (21b) from a driving device (11) for opening or closing the door, if an abnormal seat position is detected. A detection switch (15a) may be positioned under the trim of a vehicle seat near the door and/or under the lining of an inner door panel.
