PURPOSE:To obtain a speaker cone having high rigidity and a large internal loss, by coating the ceramics on the surface of a paper cone with a <=2mm. thickness and then drying the ceramics. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic particles are used as an aggregate and added with a binder and a liquid to be turned into the slurry. This slurry is attached to a paper speaker cone by the coating, spraying dipping or the like process in the form of a thin film of a <=2mm. thickness and then dried. In this case, the hardness of >=500 Knoop higher than the hardness of glass or earthenware suffices for the aggregate. That is, the ceramics like the alumina, magnesia, mullite, chamotte, silicon carbide, etc. is available for the aggregate in addition to the glass and earthenware. The binder uses the resin, rubber, clay, etc.; and the liquid uses water, alcohol, etc. The figure shows the frequency characteristics of a speaker cone composed of the two different kinds of materials. |
