One or more of the parameters affecting the engine crankshaft angular speed, such as the ignition timing, the amount of fuel etc. is controlled. The crankshaft angular speed response to the various alterations of the input parameters is evaluated so that those parameters may be optimised. The control unit employed comprises a micro-computer, a calculator, and a comparator. The micro-computer comprises a processor, memory and in and outputs. It controls and process the different signals in the system. The calculator comprises two sets of 14 bits for computing the pulses from an oscillator and receiving start and stop pulses from the micro-computer. The comparator compares the two parts of the calculator, and determines which of the two has the highest value. (Provisional basic notified in week 84/35) |
