PURPOSE:To obtain a resin which adsorbs metallic ions in aq. solns. selectively by using a polystyrene copolymer of specific unit structure in main chains as a chelate type ion exchange resin. CONSTITUTION:The polystyrene copolymer having the unit structure expressed by the general formulaI(where R1=H or of 1-5C alkyl group, R2R3=H or of 1-20C alkyl group, Z = methylene groups, methylene amino groups, etc.) in the main chains is used as a chelate type ion exchange resin. This ion exchange resin has high complex forming power and separating power for metallic ions and is therefore used for an adsorption treating method. |
