The invention relates to an arrangement for multi-stage restriction in control valves with orifice restriction bodies which are arranged in a housing, and of which at least one is assigned a control edge, a spindle being provided to produce a relative motion between these orifice restriction bodies and the associated control edge. For the purpose of achieving fully effective restriction over the entire stroke range with a low outlay it being particularly desirable to use conventional valve housings and as far as possible to avoid physical unsteadiness in the flow through the orifice restriction bodies, the invention provides for the provision of a plurality of concentrically arranged orifice restriction bodies with mutually independent flow area characteristics and associated control edges, the relative motion between all the orifice restriction bodies and the associated control edges being provided, and at least some of the orifice restriction bodies have different diameters, the components bearing the control edges being arranged between these orifice restriction bodies, with the result that, in particular, a radial flow is obtained between the individual orifice restriction bodies. <IMAGE>
