<p>PURPOSE:To measure a distance by means of a non-modulation CW Doppler rader, by calculating a distance to an object to be measured after a radar sensing starting distance is decided based on a reflection reception power at a lever higher than the prescribed one and a power obtained after traveling at a prescribed distance. CONSTITUTION:A reception power level proportional to the quartic of a distance from a CW Doppler radar 1 is detected by a detecting circuit 5, and the rate of a change from a prescribed level set by a sensitivity setting circuit 6 is found by a comparison circuit 7 and given to a microcomputer 10 via an A/D converter 8. Meanwhile, a traveling distance information from an integrating circuit 3 integrating Doppler signals and a speed information from a counter 4 are also impressed on the computer 10, and thereby a sensing starting distance corresponding to the effective reflection area of a body to be measured is decided based on a rate of a change in the reception power. Thereafter the traveling distance information is subjected to subtraction or addition according to the speed information, and thus measurement of a distance can be performed by using a non-modulation CW Doppler radar requiring no modulation and having a simple constitution.</p> |
