PURPOSE:To obtain a phosphor screen uniform in quality and to effect iprovement in a luminous flux of a lamp by a method wherein, when the double-layer screen is formed on the inside surface of a glass tube, nitrocellulose is used to form a first layer as a binder and ethylcellulose is employed to form a second layer. CONSTITUTION:A first phosphor screen is prepared by coating the inside surface of a 30-watt circular lead glass tube with 1g of fluorescent colloidal suspension before drying the surface. 1.1g of the fluorescent colloidal suspension is then applied to the dried first phosphor screen, which is dried and baked to form a second phosphor screen. Thereafter, the ordinary method was employed to attach a base to a glass tube and to make a 30-watt circular fluorescent lamp. In comparison with the conventional products, the lamp thus produced according to the present invention is by no means inferior to the former in color rendition and improvement has been effected in a luminous flux of the lamp. |
