PURPOSE:To secure the maximum throughput of an input/output system by detecting a controller for bottleneck with use of the data transfer value measured between a host system and each controller and keeping the balance of the data transfer value between the controller for bottleneck and another controller. CONSTITUTION:The data transfer value is measured between the host system and the controller via a mechanism which measures the data transfer value between the host system and each controller. Thus it is possible to decide surely whether each controller serves as a bottleneck or not. Based on this decision result, the load is decentralized toward a non-bottleneck controller from a bottleneck controller. Thus the bottleneck is avoided and the throughput of an input/output system is improved. |
