PURPOSE:To troubleshoot a fault by providing a monitor storing a signal state of input/output for a device at a timing internal and outputting input information stored as required. CONSTITUTION:A monitor CPU 5 always supervises an input/output signal required for a main body while the main body device 1 is in operation and detects the state of input/output in a sampling timing and it is written in a monitor RAM 6 as an edited data. If a fault takes place in the main body and an error signal is given, the signal starts a fault signal interruption 11 to the monitor CPU 5 and the monitor CPU 5 transits to an interruption routine. The content of the monitor RAM 6 is extracted and edited at that point of time in the interruption routine to analyze the output of a printer 7 or a magnetic tape 8. Thus, the fault is troubleshooted.
