PURPOSE:To enable manufacturing a tool having good positional accuracy in such a way that tilting of the tool is eliminated applying discharge machining, in a manufacturing method for the tool using the hard and brittle material like glass, crystal, etc. to perform supersonic machining. CONSTITUTION:After bringing the axial center of the hole of a copper discharge electrode 10 with thickness of 5mm. manufactured to have the determined accuracy and the feeding direction of the discharge electrode 10 in accord with each other, it is attached to an electrode holder. Then, using a positioning pin 8, relative position is determined for a supersonic horn 1 and for the electrode 10, which is fixed by means of a holder 12. Subsequently, after roughly machining up to the determined tool length, it is finished up to the determined size by means of a finish machining electrode so as to manufacture the supersonic machining tool. |
