PURPOSE:To manufacture dies for forming a gasket easily by forming dies of a male die and a female die for press forming a metallic gasket forming a projection for forming bead using a steel plate in a slit provided in an iron base plate and providing a slit of another side with a cut concave groove. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing a metallic gasket consisting of a metallic plate (a) having a bead 2 at the center and two, upper and lower, metallic plates (b), (b), two base plates 10, 10' are used as dies for forming the bead 2. Slits 11, 11' opposed to each other are cut on the iron base plates 10, 10'. A steel plate 12 is burried in a slit 11. The length W of the plate is made equal to the sum of the thickness (d) of the base plate 10 and the height (h) of a projection for obtaining the bead 2. This is made a male die and bolted 16 to a base 15. To form a female die, a concave groove 18 of width W' and depth (h') is made by cutting both sides of the slit 11' of the base plate 10' using a drill etc. conforming to the shape of the bead 2. This is bolted 16' to a base 15'. |
