Provision is made for a flow meter (2) which is to be installed in a pipeline (1) and has an interdigital structure which does not cause any additional flow resistance, to excite a sympathetic oscillation in the transducer (K). The thickness (t) of the transducer body (K) and/or the periodicity (d) of the interdigital structure (6, 11) have dimensions which tune them to the frequency (f) of the exciting AC voltage for the corresponding angle ( alpha ) of the ultrasonic emission (12). <IMAGE>
