PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent display picture with equalized intervals of electron beam positions on a display screen, by modulating a deflection signal so that an envelope of the deflection signal applied to a deflection electrode can be shaped as inversed S shape. CONSTITUTION:Vertical and horizontal synchronizing signals separated from a television composite video signal are respectively applied to terminals 271 and 272 and supplied to binary-hexadecimal decoder 275 via pulse width and a level conversion circuit 273 and a hexadecimal up-down counter 274. For the signals coded at the decoder, the amount of correction is determined with a volume control 276 so that the voltage is constituted as inversed-S shape at switches 277 and 278, to obtain a drive pulse for a line cathode in which the height of steps in 16-level can be modulated. The waveform of upper right is obtained from a terminal 2710 and that of lower right is obtained from a terminal 2711. |
