PURPOSE:To obtain a blue light emitting diode element having a low cost and a wide light emitting area by forming a thin film of a complex compound on a substrate and implanting electrons and holes into the film to emit a light from the film. CONSTITUTION:Anthracene powder is filled in an evaporation source 11 in a vacuum tank 10, and potassium is filled in an evaporation source 12 at predetermined quantity ratio, the temperatures of the sources 11, 12 are raised, and anthracene and potassium mixture vapor is generated in the tank 10. The source 11 is heated to about 50 deg.C, the source 12 is heated to about 90 deg.C, a base 13 side is held at 13 deg.C, thereby forming a thin film 5 of a uniform complex compound. Then, when a voltage is applied between an electrode 7 and a gold wire 8, the film 5 emits a light by means of an electroluminescence. Thus, a blue light emitting diode element having a low cost and a wide light emitting area can be easily manufactured. |
