PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality printings for a long period of time by supplying ink from the side facing the printing medium to an endless ink ribbon whose base material is urethane-based rubber. CONSTITUTION:An endless ink ribbon is extended through a spring to press a roller 13 outwards by guide rollers 10, 11, 12 and 13, and a desired letter is printed on a printing medium 2 through said ribbon by driving a printing head 3. In such a printer (where 1 is platen and 5 is ink ribbon cassette), an ink ribbon 6 made of a urethane-based rubber thin film 0.1-0.25mm. thickness impregnated with ink is used, and ink is supplied to the ink ribbon 6 from the side facing the printing medium 2 of the ribbon 6 by using an ink roller 9 impregnated with supplementary ink. The use of said ink ribbon enables one to smoothly alter the printing color when using a wire dot printing head and also to perform printing immediately after exchanging a desired color of a ribbon. |
