PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of wrapping angles and to cool a steel strip to a target temp. value by providing devices for absorbing the change in pass length and maintaining the constant tension of the steel strip in a cooling zone in proximity to a cooler wherein the steel strip passing therethrough is wrapped on rotary cooling bodies. CONSTITUTION:A tension roll 22 and a deflector roll 23 are provided in proximity to stationary and vertically moving type rotary cooling bodies 19, 20 wherein a refrigerant such as water is flowed.
