<p>The hand tool has an automatic pneumatic reed, and installs a snap-rivet in aligned holes through overlapping pieces (4,4') used in vehicle production. A pneumatic drive feeds the tool with rivets (17) from a magazine-distributor. The tool comprises a body (2) with a telescopic head (8). The body forms the handle whilst the head constitutes the rivet holder. Rivet ejection is by a pusher (9) fixed (24) to the body and which enters the head. The forward heat projection may be maintained by a spring (12), and the head is connected (10) to the pneumatic driVe whilst providing a rivet outlet (18) together with a rivet-retaining cup (16). A rivet is installed by pushing the body towards the work until the head retracts. The pusher comprises fingers (22) which part to allow the succeeding rivet to pass, and the recoil of the head initiates supply of the succeeding rivet.</p> |
