ADJUSTMENT OF COAL SLURRY AND EQUIPMENT THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To reduce the water content of the titled coal slurry and to prevent a transfer pipe from being blocked due to the separation of water from powdered coal in the slurry during the transportation of the slurry, by a method wherein several kinds of coal of different particle diameters are mixed with water at a specified rate. CONSTITUTION:Coal lumps in a coal bunker 1 are taken out by an electromagnetic feeder 2 so to be crushed to rough particles of 2-0.25mm. by a hammer mill 3 and the particles are selected by a screen 4 to several kinds of powdered coal of certain particle diameters. Then a part of the powdered coal is further crushed by a rod mill 5 to become powdered coal of smaller than 0.24mm. in particle diameter. Next, these kinds of powdered coal are transferred to a storage tank 7 through an weighing device 6 while water is supplied into the tank 7 through a water meter 8 so that the powdered coal and the water are mixed with each other to produce the coal slurry and the slurry is transferred to a storage tank after it is condensed by a thickener 9 for the adjustment of the water contained therein. The mixing ratio of the above mentioned different kinds of powdered coal is such that the particles of about 2-0.25mm. in diameter are about 20-30wt% those of about 0.24-0.07mm. are about 3-58wt% and those of smaller than 0.7mm. are about 40-50wt% and the mixing ratio of the water to the powdered coal in the slurry is such that about 40wt% of water is added to about 60-80wt% of the powdered coal.
