PURPOSE:To display a picture by the same processing as 1 picture display, irrespective of the number of cathode ray tubes or its arrangement, by providing a distributing function and an expanded character generating function of a display character in a display device, and executing an expanded display which has used plural cathode ray tubes. CONSTITUTION:A display character code signal 30 is received by 1 character portion each by a character code receiving circuit 23, and vertical/horizontal coordinate data is sent to a coordinate analyzing circuit 26 by a coordinate signal distributing circuit 24, and are stored in a display coordinate register 36. A character code is sent to a character code buffer 33 from a coordinate signal separating circuit 32, and is stored one after another in a picture character-string memory 37 by a coordinate updating circuit 35. When a signal is sent to a picture element reading-out circuit 39 from a refresh signal generator 41 of a picture, the character code of prescribed coordinates of the picture character-string memory 37 is read out from a corresponding picture element memory 38, and is sent to an expanded character generating circuit 43. In this case, only the expanded character generating circuit 43 corresponding to an output signal from a distributing signal generator 42 is operated, and a dot signal is sent to a video signal converting circuit 44. |
