In an electronic machine control, especially for a card or willow, the type and quantity of processing of the fibre material is controlled and monitored, for example the actual rotational speeds of the feed roller and of the doffer being compared with predetermined desired rotational speeds present in a memory, and regulating values being formed from the deviation and supplied to the feed roller or the doffer, in order to set a preselected delivery speed or a preselected draft. In order, in particular, to allow a central control and monitoring of the type and quantity of processing of the fibre material and to provide a control involving little outlay and with little susceptibility to faults in terms of apparatus, there is a central electrical control unit which contains a microprocessor with memories and which performs the regulating, control, operating, monitoring and indicating functions.
