In order to achieve in refrigerating installations a more compact construction in association with an improvement of the installation capacity, an installation heat exchanger is provided which has an inner container (20) arranged in an outer container (19), there being arranged in the interspace between the two containers a pipe coil for the refrigerant flowing from the condenser (12) to the evaporator (16). The outlet line of the evaporator (16) opens into this interspace which is connected via an overflow opening (6) to the inner container (20), from which the drawing off by suction to the compressor takes place. <IMAGE>
