<p>A method of making articles by deformation of cylindrical work-pieces comprises the heating of work-pieces (1), their cross-helical rolling with simultaneous deformation of their butt-end waste parts (3) by means of cut-off blades, subsequent separation of those butt-end waste parts (3) from the rolled work-pieces (2) and flashless forging of the rolled work-pieces (2), the separation of the butt-end waste parts (3) from the rolled work-pieces being effected by reducing the rotation speed of the butt-end waste parts (3), after their deformation, up to a value of W/2.5 to 0, where W is the rotation speed of the work-pieces (2) during their rolling.</p> |
