The radio paging system call signal recognition device, associated with each receiver, responds to transmission of the correct call signal to allow an optical or acoustic signalling device to be actuated, for providing a signal which is only perceptible within the immediate vicinity of the receiver. In response to the signalling device being actuated by reception of the correct call signal a second signalling device is operated at a remote point upon successive repetition of the call signal within a given time span. Pref. the first signalling device is positioned within a vehicle provided with a 2-way radio, e.g. an ambulance, while the second signalling device is mounted on the outside of the vehicle. PS.
