A sliding door installation for use in a doorway in a wall of a vehicle or building comprises a pair of doors 1,1' supported in part by the vehicle body or building and in part by one another in such a way that, throughout the sliding motion of the doors to open and close the doorway, the doors are constructed to slide along, and are maintained parallel to, a common rectilinear axis. Preferably, each door 1,1' has, near its upper edge, an arm 2,2' incorporating a track 3,3' in which engages a roller 4,4' carried by the other arm, and a track 5,5' engaged by a roller 12,12' directly or indirectly mounted on the vehicle body or building. <IMAGE> |
