The subject of the invention is a method for rolling bandlike metal material between at least three working rolls 11-14, which are mounted in a roll stand placed in a row, so that their parallel lengthwise axles are situated at least approximately in the same plane. The method according to the invention is characterised in that the rolls are driven so that each following roll is driven at greater peripheral speed than the preceding roll, counting from the first to the last pass. The material is led continuously through the pass and after emerging from the particular pass it is led around a portion of the circumferential surface of the working roll rotating at faster peripheral speed. Furthermore, the working rolls are driven so that for at least one pair of working rolls the roll turning with greater peripheral speed is driven so that the peripheral speed is greater than the speed at which the material leaves the pass between the particular working rolls. <IMAGE> |
