PURPOSE:To simplify a tire chain installation procedure by attaching one end of a chain to hooks of a temporary chain retainer mounted on a tire and rolling the tire over the chain. CONSTITUTION:A temporary chain retainer 4 consists of a temporary spring and has hooks 3 for retaining a chain. The temporary chain retainer 4 is temporarily installed graspingly on a tire 5 with a restoring force. One end of the chain 6 is connected to these hooks 3. The tire 5 is rolled over the chain that has been spread, such that the chain 6 will be wound around on the periphery of the tire 5. The chain 6 that has been thus installed is connected by chain engaging hooks 7. The installation of the tire chain 6 on the tire 5 is completed by removing the temporary chain retainer 4. |
